GUWAHATI: The police under the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) intercepted two vehicles at multiple locations near Khetri, preventing the smuggling of 59 cattle into Meghalaya on November 22.
During the operation, four individuals suspected to be involved in the illegal transportation of the 59 cattle were apprehended.
The vehicles were intercepted at points, namely Sakhura and Nazirakhat, thwarting the attempted smuggling operation. The arrested individuals are now in police custody, and a further probe is underway to uncover the details of the illicit operation.
Guwahati Police took to X to put out, “An EGPD team from Khetri PS intercepted 2 vehicles at Sakhura & Nazirakhat when they were trying to smuggle 59 cattle into Meghalaya. 4 thugs were arrested. Further probe is on.”
