GUWAHATI: State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to cut down on contractual workers across its circles in a bid to reduce expenditure.
As per reports, 30% of contractual workers are being laid off from BSNL which is presently struggling due to cash crunch.

It should be mentioned that the contractual workers who have already been retrenched have not received their pending wages for the last five months across the country.
These contractual workers are usually employed through various contractors. However, they get wages and other service benefits from BSNL itself.
