GUWAHATI: Gautam Deka from Assam won the first position in an astrophotography competition organised by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the occasion of International Moon Day on July 20.
Gautam is from Mangaldai and started his photography journey in 2012. In 2013, he began astrophotography which today won him the first position in the competition.
The theme of the competition organised by ISRO was ‘Moonshots’ where photographers were asked to take shots of the moon with their smart phones and upload it on the ISRO website. The photograph that Gautam submitted was taken on the occasion of Guru Purnima from Sereng Sapori area in Mangaldai.
