GUWAHATI: On August 19, Guwahati’s City Center Mall was evacuated at around 3 – 3:30 PM quoting technical issues, which was later confirmed as bomb threat.

The mall reportedly received an email saying there was an explosive device on the premise.
However, according to a source in police, “The Guwahati Mall wasn’t the only one to receive that email. The email was sent to several other malls across India, all saying that there is an explosive device in the premise, which later turned out to be a hoax”.
The email was reportedly sent by an unknown organisation named ‘KNR'.
In Guwahati, after hours of searching with fire and emergency service and bomb-sniffing dogs at the scene, it was confirmed to be a hoax.
Media reports have stated that the mail was sent to 75 other malls across India.
