Ghosh, who specialised in orthopaedic surgery with an MS from PGIMER Chandigarh, has been refrained from further practising as a surgeon or doctor following the cancellation of his medical registration. This decision comes after the West Bengal Medical Council issued him a show-cause notice on September 6.

The council stated that Ghosh failed to provide an explanation within the 13-day timeframe, prompting his removal under Section 25(a)(II) of the Bengal Medical Act, 1914, and Section 37(III) of the West Bengal Medical Council's code of medical ethics.

This is not the first time Ghosh has faced legal trouble; he has also been arrested in a corruption case.
