Few hours after the successful Dikhow rescue operation, another accident has been reported in the Brahmaputra river.
A boat with nearly 50 passengers has capsized in the river. According to sources, the boat got stuck to materials of the ongoing JICA Water Project and capsized in the river. The accident occurred just 200 meters away from the destination Ghat.
Nearly 20 passengers plunged into the river to save their lives. Several school students were also present in the boat. Approximately 10 motorcycles were there in the boat, most of which swept away in the water.
According to primary sources, 12 persons have successfully saved their lives so far.
SDRF officials have reached to the spot for the rescue operation.
