GUWAHATI: KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi criticised the Assam government and the BJP for the hooch tragedy in Golaghat that has taken over 110 lives.
Gogoi said that the Golaghat incident is heart-wrenching and this was a first of its kind incident in the history of Assam.
He also accused of an existing syndicate in the excise department that has resulted in this criminal offence.
Akhil Gogoi accused Lal Charan Agarwala and Subash Sahay for being involved in the 'Lali Gud' syndicate.
Liquor is a big source of revenue for the BJP government. With over 100 dead the government has still not taken any urgent steps. The RSS-BJP want the tea garden workers to continue this habit of drinking. They are using the tea garden workers as their vote banks said Gogoi.
