BJP Leader Arrested On Charges Of Alleged Extortion

 

GUWAHATI: In another incident of alleged corruption, a leader of the BJP was arrested on alleged fraud charges and money extortion in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam on May 24.

The accused has been identified as Moon Ingtipi, Secretary Kishan Morcha, BJP, East Karbi Anglong District.

According to media sources, the matter came to light when Ingtipi allegedly extorted a large amount of money from several people under the pretext of providing jobs and an Entry Tax Gate of KAAC.

As per reports until now, Ingtipi has allegedly extorted around ₹9.52 crore from various individuals who were longing for a job.

She was arrested when the individuals opened up before the media, explaining the situation.

It has also been learned that Ingtipi had reportedly extorted money from the victims by using the names of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang.

The alleged has now been placed under suspension from the responsibility of District Secretary, Kishan Morcha, BJP-East Karbi Anglong District, as per official reports in the media.
