Former Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi posted a series of tweets on Monday slammed the BJP government’s preparations for the two big sports events being held in the city. He expressed his views on the preparations of the current government for the matches saying that the BJP Govt is busy hanging hoardings and posters, but hasn’t taken care of the city’s beautification.
The tweets read, “It is unfortunate that at a time when Guwahati is hosting prestigious sports events like #FIFAU17WC & 2nd #T20 international, the road conditions of the city are pathetic. The BJP Assam Govt didn't take care of the roads of the city before such reputed international events are being launched. Even the road leading to ACA Cricket Stadium, Barsapara is in deplorable condition. Instead of making the host city more clean environment, good roads & beautification of the city area, the BJP Govt is busy in hanging hoardings & posters of the events”
