GUWAHATI: As early trends showed the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) leading in a majority of Lok Sabha seats across the country and the state of Assam, the BJP headquarter in Guwahati erupted in celebrations.

The celebrations at the headquarters located in Hengrabari began as early as 9 AM with the saffron party distributing 200 kgs of laddoos to its party workers and supporters. Additionally, freshly made jalebis were served to over 10,000 people throughout the counting day. Free meals were also served throughout the day across all state and district offices.
The celebrations intensified as the trends started showing a clear majority in favour of the BJP in the afternoon. The party office was painted in bright colours as the party karyakartas started playing with gulal. A source in the state BJP informed G Plus that as many as 10 bags of gulal, weighing 50 kgs each, were brought to the party office to celebrate the party's landslide victory.

Further, over Rs 20,000 worth of firecrackers were also brought for the occasion. As the day progressed, more crackers and sweets were also brought by party karyakartas and supporters of the BJP.
