A ‘StatEATstics Report: The Quarantine Edition’ by the food delivery app Swiggy revealed that Indians stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic ordered Biryani over 5.5 lakh times from various eateries across the country.
According to reports, after Biryani, Nan was the second most ordered dish which was ordered over 3.35 lakh times followed by Masala Dosa which was ordered 3.31 lakh times.

Biryani has been topping the list of most ordered dishes for the past 3 years with this being its fourth year as the top favourite dish.
Among deserts, the Choco Lava Cake was the most ordered about 1.29 lakh times, followed by Gulab Jamun which Indians ordered over 84 thousand times.
The food delivery app Swiggy also delivered around 1,20,000 cakes during the lockdown and on an average, 65,000 orders were placed by 8 pm around dinner time.
