GUWAHATI: As many as 26 Bihu committees from Dibrugarh district of Assam have allegedly boycotted six prominent celebrities from the Assamese cultural fraternity for supporting the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
The artists who have been boycotted include Priyanka Bharali, Krishnamoni Chutia, Nayan Nilim, Akash Deep, Gayatri Mahanta and Pabitra Margherita.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Bharali, reacting to the ban on social media said that she has been strongly opposing CAA since the first day and has also joined the anti-CAA protests held at the Judges Field and Chandmari Playground.
