Bhutan's King And Queen To Visit Assam On November 3

GUWAHATI: Bhutan’s Monarch Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is scheduled to make a personal visit to Assam from November 3 to November 5.

Bhutan's Ambassador to India, Maj Gen Vetsop Namgyel, paid a courtesy call to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in anticipation of a three-day private visit by King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema to the state.

The 43-year-old King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, will be accompanied by Queen Jetsun Pema along with their two sons on this private visit to Assam.

On Saturday, the royal family is scheduled to visit the revered Kamakhya temple, participate in a cultural program organized by the Assam government, and attend a dinner hosted by Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria.

The following day, the royal guests will explore the Kaziranga National Park, celebrated for its population of one-horned rhinoceroses.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will also host a dinner in their honour later in the evening.
