In a statement released by the company, it has stated that the trial is based on a two-dose schedule, given 28 days apart. The efficiency of the vaccine can be determined only after 14 days post the second phase.

Earlier, the union health ministry had also issued a similar statement saying, "The antibodies against the infection build up in a human being only after a specific number of days pass after the second dose of the vaccine is taken. This is a two-dose vaccine. The minister in question has taken only one dose of the vaccine."

Anil Vij earlier took to his Twitter handle to announce having tested positive two weeks after getting the first dose of the trial vaccine.

The vaccine is being developed by Bharat Biotech along with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and has successfully completed two phases of the trial.
