B. Barooah Cancer Institute presents Award of Excellence to Prof U.C Sarma

Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute presented Award of Excellence in Medical Education & Research to Prof. Umesh Ch. Sarma, Vice Chancellor, Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Assam at a Seminar in Oncology in the Auditorium of the Institute on 15th December 2016.   Since the establishment of Medical University by the Govt. of Assam, Prof. Sarma worked relentlessly to promote medical education & research in this part of the country.     To overcome the shortage of trained medical professionals in Oncology and technologist, Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute has laid emphasis on Capacity Development for the benefit of the people of the North Eastern Region.     Dr. U. C. Sarma in his acceptance speech highlighted the importance of medical research on common cancers of the North Eastern Region.
