GUWAHATI: Over 1,800 mementos received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were auctioned last month, wherein traditional mementos from different states were auctioned.
The funds received from the auction will be used for the Namami Ganga, a central government project to clean the Ganga river.
During the auction, a traditional Xorai from Assam fetched an auction amount of Rs 12 lakh. The Sarai was auctioned from Majuli.
Auctioned mementos include a statue of Gautam Buddha and a wooden replica of the Ashok Stambh.
