Assam's Uma Chetry Selected In India A (Emerging) Squad

 

GUWAHATI: Assam's Uma Chetry has earned her spot in the India A (Emerging) squad for the ACC Emerging Women's Asia Cup 2023.

Chetry, a talented wicket-keeper batter, has showcased exceptional skills and potential, and her consistent performances.

"Uma Chetry, a talented wicket-keeper batter, has showcased exceptional skills and potential, and her consistent performances have rightfully earned her a place in the India 'A' team. Her ability to handle both batting and wicket-keeping responsibilities with finesse has caught the attention of selectors," an Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Facebook post stated.

"Let's extend our warmest wishes and support to Uma Chetry and the entire India 'A' (Emerging) team as they embark on this thrilling journey! We're proud of you, Uma! Show the world your incredible talent and make us proud," the post added.

The India 'A' team is all set to kickstart their campaign on June 13 against host Hong Kong at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong.
 
This tournament, organised by the Asian Cricket Council, will witness fierce competition among eight teams from across Asia, divided into Group A and Group B.
