Assam's Pawan Saikia Secures Top Positions In National Taekwondo Championships

 

GUWAHATI: In a remarkable showcase of skill, Pawan Saikia from Assam achieved a remarkable feat by securing a gold medal, a silver medal, and three bronze medals in various categories in the highly competitive national Taekwondo championship. Saikia's exceptional performance earned him the coveted title of the overall best athlete in the competition.

38 athletes from Maharashtra and 12 athletes from Kerala have triumphed in the prestigious event, hosted at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati, with Kerala emerging as the leader in both the men's and women's divisions. Among the male competitors, H.H.C. Abdul Wahid claimed the title of the best player, while Kerala's L.A. Tomby was honoured as the best female athlete.

This event was meticulously organised by the All Assam Taekwondo Association, guided by the Indian Taekwondo Federation. It provided an invaluable platform for 50 exceptionally talented athletes from Assam to compete with peers from various states, where they demonstrated their remarkable skills.
