Assam's Natsurya Naat Mahotsav Enters 27th Edition, Showcasing Theatrical Excellence

 

GUWAHATI: The Natsurya Naat Mahotsav, a renowned theatrical festival hosted by the Natsurya Sowarani Samiti, is currently in its 27th edition, providing a significant platform for artists not only from Assam but also from various regions.

The festival, held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra and graced by the presence of Assam Minister of Industries and Commerce and Public Enterprises, and Cultural Affairs Bimal Borah and his cabinet colleague, Minister of Public Health Engineering, Skill Development Employment and Entrepreneurship and Tourism Jayanta Mallabaruah, promises to be a celebration of theatrical talent until December 13, 2023. 

The festival, organised in the memory of memorable actor and playwright-director of Assam, Natsurya Phani Sarma, has been providing a platform for amateur theatre groups to develop their theatrical talents for the last 26 years.

During the event, Borah expressed immense delight at attending the festival, emphasising its crucial role in fostering the talents of both local and regional artists over the past 26 years. He conveyed his best wishes to the organisers, commending their efforts in curating a diverse selection of thought-provoking plays. He expressed gratitude for their commitment to showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Assam through this cultural extravaganza.
