This was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma after a State cabinet meeting that was held in Dibrugarh on Monday, December 23.
Effective January 1, the compensation will benefit 278 Gaon Pradhans in Forest Villages and 668 in FRA villages in non-Sixth Schedule areas.
