GUWAHATI: The Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan is closing in on its application deadline, with interested entrepreneurs urged to register by November 7.
Objectives of the initiative:
Provide Self-Employment: The initiative aims to provide self-employment opportunities to educated youth across all categories through suitable mechanisms.
Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: Create an entrepreneur-oriented ecosystem within the state of Assam.
Generate Employment: Generate employment opportunities in both rural and urban areas by encouraging the establishment of new or existing ventures.
Financial Assistance: Provide financial assistance to enterprising individuals and groups for undertaking new or existing economic activities.
Rural Economy: Strengthen the state government's special focus on the rural economy.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants should be permanent residents of Assam and fall within the age bracket of 28 to 40 years as of April 1, 2023.
For SC/ST/OBC categories, the upper age limit is relaxed to 43 years.
Educational qualifications can range from a minimum of Class X pass (Class X for SC/ST/OBC) to ITI, Polytechnic, Diploma in other technical courses, and even postgraduate and professional degrees.
Applicants should possess the skills, experience, knowledge, or other relevant attributes to undertake income-generating activities.
A bank account should have been opened before December 31, 2023, and the applicant should not have defaulted on loans from co-operative and nationalised banks.
Only one member per family is eligible for this scheme.
Applicants must have valid registration in the Employment Exchange.

How to Apply:
New users can sign up on the portal by providing necessary details
After successful sign-up, applicants can register for the scheme by logging in with their credentials.
Applicants must fill in all necessary details and upload required documents.
Upon successful submission, an acknowledgment slip is generated along with a reference number, which allows applicants to track the status of their application.
Applicants will receive SMS and email notifications.
