GUWAHATI: A tragic drowning accident has been reported while picnicking from Amingaon.
One Shiva Lahkar, about 30 years of age, has been missing since 10th January last after the boat he was in capsized in the Brahmaputra River near Amingaon.
A group of seven youths went to a picnic at Mariyapatti in Amingaon. While the six others returned safely, Shiva reportedly drowned.

Mukut Baishya, in charge of Amingaon Police Outpost, informed G Plus, "We informed the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team immediately and rescue operation is under way. The team has been searching for the missing boy relentlessly since yesterday, but he has not yet been found."
