Assam Women Clinch Gold In Asian Lawn Bowls Championship

GUWAHATI: Assam's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nayanmani Saikia, alongside Bangita Hazarika, secured a remarkable victory by winning the gold medal in the doubles event at the 15th Asian Lawn Bowls Championship 2024 held in Thailand.

The dynamic duo showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, outperforming their competitors to claim the coveted title. The Indian contingent exhibited commendable performance overall, clinching a total of two gold and one bronze medal in various categories.

In the Men's Fours event, the gold medal was secured by Abhishek Lakra, Sunil Bahadur, Chandan Kumar Singh, and Alok Lakra. Furthermore, Biswajeet Khaun showcased remarkable prowess in the Men's Singles event, securing a bronze medal and contributing to India's medal tally in the championship.

Assam DGP GP Singh took to X to congratulate the remarkable achievements of the women from Assam. “Congratulations to our DSP Nayanmani Saikia for teaming up with Bangita Hazarika to win Gold medal in doubles event at Asian Lawn Bowls Championship,2024 in Thailand,” DGP Singh stated.
