Assam: Wine Shops Illegally Hike Prices Of Liquor Brands, Know The Actual Prices

 

GUWAHATI: Post the latest liquor rates passed by the Excise Department on July 4, there have been allegations that some liquor shops are charging excess of the prices deemed by the Excise Department.

In compliance with the Government of Assam’s latest notification, the following are the prices of different popular liquor brands in the state.-The price of Old Monk (Rum) has been increased to ₹80 for 180 ml, ₹160 for 375 ml, and ₹320 for 750 ml.-The price of Blender’s Pride(Whiskey) has now been deemed at ₹205 for 180 ml, ₹415 for 375 ml, and ₹830 for 750 ml.

The new excise regulations from the Assam government have increased liquor prices from July 2023 and the state will issue new "off" or liquor shops licensed soon to "H1" or highest bidders. The licences for "premium" off-liquor shops in malls or commercial establishments in municipal areas will also be issued. The premium liquor stores will stay open until 11:00 PM.
