Assam: Voting Begins For By-Elections In 4 Constituencies

GUWAHATI: Polling began for the by-elections in four Assembly Constituencies in Assam on Monday, October 21.

Voting is being held for Ratabari, Sonari, Rangapara and Jania assembly constituencies.

A total of 6,77,367 voters will exercise their votes in 830 polling booths to decide the fate of 20 candidates.

In the last assembly election in Assam, BJP won Ratabari, Sonari and Rangapara seats while Congress won the Jania seat.

Assam chief electoral officer Mukesh Sahu on Sunday, October 20 appealed to all voters to exercise their franchise to strengthen the spirit of democracy.

Results of the polls will be announced on Thursday, October 24.
