GUWAHATI: The police conducted two anti-narcotics operations first in Girishganj and second in Badarpur, both that resulted in significant seizures of illegal substances in Karimganj on October 31.
In the first operation, conducted under Inspector in Charge (IC) Girishganj, the police acted on a tip-off, launching an anti-narcotics operation that led to the recovery of six soap cases and seven plastic vials, totalling 79 grams of heroin. This operation also culminated in the apprehension of three individuals involved in the illegal drug trade. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them, as per reports.
Simultaneously, in a second operation carried out under the purview of Karimganj Police, another team acted on specific information which resulted in the seizure of seven soap cases containing a total of 104 grams of heroin within the Badarpur Police Station area. Two individuals linked to the drug trade were apprehended, and legal actions have been initiated.
Karimganj Police took to X to put out, “Acting on a tip-off, an anti-narcotics ops was launched by a team led by IC Girishganj and recovered 06 soap cases and 7 plastic vials (total weight = 79 grams )of Heroin. Three persons are apprehended in this regard. Legal action initiated. Based on specific input , an anti narcotics ops was launched by a special team of @karimganjpolice and recovered 07 soap cases (total weight = 104 grams )of Heroin under Badarpur PS area.Two persons are apprehended in this regard. Legal action initiated.”
