GUWAHATI: A tragic incident occurred in Lakhimpur on Sunday when a father-son duo was trapped beneath a tree they were cutting in their backyard. The father, Bhabesh Gogoi, lost his life, while his son, Pran Jyoti Gogoi, remains in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses reported that the two were attempting to fell the tree when it collapsed on them. Villagers had to cut through the fallen branches to rescue the pair. Both were immediately rushed to Ghilamora Community Hospital, but Bhabesh Gogoi succumbed to his injuries.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from Ghilamora police station said, "The duo were attempting to cut the tree when it collapsed on them. The father succumbed to his injuries, while the son has been taken to Dibrugarh for better medical assistance."
The son, Pran Jyoti Gogoi’s condition remains critical. Further details are awaited.
