GUWAHATI: The All Assam Public Bus Coordination Committee has decided to call for a ‘chakka bandh’ on April 8 and 9.

The decision was taken by the organization at a hearing at Tezpur in Sonitpur district of Assam.

Speaking to G Plus, general secretary of the Assam Transport Association, Pradip Das, said that the ‘bandh’ has been called as the government has not heeded to the body’s demands to increase the fare of the vehicles used for election purposes. They have also raised the issue of increasing the salaries of the employees.
