Titled ‘Advantage Assam 2.0 – The Global Infrastructure and Investors' Summit,’ the event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to attend the closing session.

The summit will focus on enhancing investments in key sectors such as road connectivity, railways, aviation, and industries. Union ministers will participate in sector-specific discussions to explore investment opportunities.

Additionally, special cultural performances, including the traditional Jhumur dance, will showcase Assam’s heritage in the world spotlight. State delegations have also been scheduled to promote the event internationally to attract global investors.

This follows the success of the first Advantage Assam summit in 2018, which secured investment commitments worth ₹1 lakh crore, although progress was hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In another key announcement, Sarma confirmed that panchayat elections in Assam will be held in the same month.
