GUWAHATI: Assam has been allotted a total of ₹2282.24 crore as tax devolution from the Central Government for the upcoming festivities on December 22.
A total of ₹72,961.21 crore has been released by the Central Government as an additional installment of Tax Devolution to the different states. The move is aimed at empowering the states to bolster their financial capabilities for implementing various social welfare measures and advancing infrastructure development schemes.
This supplementary installment comes in addition to the ₹72,961.21 crore already released on December 11, 2023. The infusion of funds is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the states' capacity to finance and implement critical social welfare initiatives, including healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation programs.
Ministry Of Finance took to X to put out, “In view of the forthcoming festivities and the New Year, Centre releases ₹72,961.21 crore as additional installment of Tax Devolution to States to strengthen State Governments for financing various social welfare measures and infrastructure development schemes. This installment is in addition to the installment of ₹72,961.21 crore already released on 11 December 2023.”
