Assam To Convert 97 Sanskrit & Pali Tols Into Special Schools

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has announced an initiative to enhance Sanskrit education by converting 97 Sanskrit and Pali Tols in the state to special schools. This decision was taken at a state cabinet meeting chaired virtually online by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma from Delhi on Wednesday, December 4.

With the intention of promoting Indian history, culture, and civilization, these institutions will focus on teaching Sanskrit, Vedas, Astrology, and Vastu Shastra alongside modern subjects like Science and Mathematics, creating a comprehensive curriculum.

Additionally, Nalbari Sanskrit College will be upgraded to the Nalbari Sanskrit Study and Research Centre.

All these schools will now come under the jurisdiction of the Department of School Education and be affiliated with Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University in Nalbari.
