GUWAHATI: A student’s body was recovered from near a pond in the premises of Central Institute of Technology (CIT).
The deceased has been identified as Bikash Das from Barpeta district who was a seventh semester B Tech student at CIT.

As per reports, Das had gone swimming with a few friends after celebrating a friend’s birthday and allegedly drowned in the pond.
He was then taken to MRM Memorial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. However, Das’ family has filed an FIR as they suspect foul play in the incident.
