GUWAHATI: Assam police’s Special Task Force (STF) arrested eight individuals from Dhubri and Kokrajhar on December 18.

According to reports, the arrests were made after the midnight-hour mark, around 1-1:30 AM.
Two individuals named Emanul Haque and Abdul Karim were apprehended in Dhubri for alleged connection with the investigation. Haque hails from Hatipota near Dhubri and Karim is from Khudigaon in Bilasipara.
Simultaneously, another major operation conducted in Kokrajhar led to the arrest of six suspects identified as Hakim Ali Mondal, Habijur Ali, Majnu Sheikh, Amidul Sheikh, Nur Islam, and Mujibur Rahman.
The operation carried out in Kokrajhar spanned across several areas such as Jaipur, Khachipara, Bhotgaon, and Bhadiyaguri. All the apprehended suspects are said to have alleged links to Pakistan terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
As of right now, five of the arrested suspects have been transferred to Guwahati for further interrogation by the authorities, while further probe is on to determine each individual's affiliations and activities.
