Assam Signs MoU Worth € 50 Million With France

GUWAHATI: A delegation from French Development Agency (AFD) led by Ambassador of France to India Emmanuel Lenain called on Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Janata Bhawan, Guwahati on November 4.

In the meeting an MoU between Govt of Assam and AFD worth € 50 million was signed to support the State Govt's initiatives to restore Assam's ecosystem and preserve our rich biodiversity.

Ambassador of France to India Emmanuel Lenain said, “This project reinforces the commitment of India and France towards the restoration and preservation of rich and diverse natural ecosystems. Biodiversity conservation will remain a priority for our 2020 bilateral agenda, and we look forward to lessons from this collaboration, which has already yielded tangible results, being shared in India and international forums”.

Taking to the Twitter handle, Wildlife Trust India wrote, "Thank you #AssamForestDepartment for bringing  @FranceinIndia to #CWRC and Kaziranga Discovery Park."
