GUWAHATI: The demographic change in Assam is slowly turning the state into a hotbed for radicals claimed Assam Finance Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma. The BJP leader said that the recent arrests of persons from Assam having direct involvement with radical activities is a matter of serious concern.

Speaking to reporters Himanta Biswa said, “We have seen how the person involved in Bodhgaya blast was from Assam. Also, the recent arrests by NIA (National Investigative Agency) from Jamunamukh on terror charges show a trend.”

“A lot of people from Assam have been missing. If you investigate these missing persons you will come to know that there are doubts about them joining radical outfits. The rapid change in demography of Assam is helping the radical organizations turn the state into a playground for such activities,” said the minister.
