Aiming to enhance connectivity for daily commuters and reduce carbon emissions, this new directive is expected to streamline services while providing safe and reliable mobility solutions for residents. The approved routes connect key points that cover major localities, transit locations, and residential zones.
For instance, e-rickshaws will now connect Guwahati Refinery to Sector-1, Sector-2, and Nizorapar, ensuring access for workers and residents in this industrial zone. Another e-rickshaw route has been sanctioned for those travelling between Panikhaiti Railway Crossing and Digaru, enhancing access to public transportation hubs.
Alternatively, e-rickshaws will run from Digaru to Sonapur, connecting areas close to National Highways, while the service will cover routes from Sonapur Bazaar to nearby areas including Morog Dula, Ural, Komalajari (up to 14th Mile), Sonaigaon, and Sorutari, offering critical connectivity in rural parts of the district.
