GUWAHATI: Over 8 lakh tea garden workers in Assam will be given Rs. 3000 each by 15th of November. This will be provided under the Chah Bagichar Dhan Purashkar Mela Scheme (Cash Award Scheme Tea Garden Worker).

The Assam government will be releasing a total of Rs. 250 crores.
“While 7 lakh 15 thousand tea workers will surely avail the benefit as they already have the bank accounts, we are hoping that 8 lakh people could be benefited,” said Assam’s finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while announcing the scheme.
