GUWAHATI: A Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawan allegedly attempted to rape a woman passenger in a train in Rowta and Mazbat railway station in Assam’s Udalguri district.
According to reports, the incident took place at around 3 PM on September 17, when the accused identified as P R Shukla from Uttar Pradesh allegedly attempted to rape the woman in the washroom of the Rangia bound Murkongselek-Rangia train.
However, the victim managed to raise an alarm and the accused was thrashed by the public at Udalguri railway station.

In the meanwhile the jawan has been handed over to Tangla Government Railway Police (GRP) and is currently kept at Tangla GRP Investigation Centre.
