Assam: Robbers Loot Rs 3 Lakh Worth Jewellery and Cash at Gun Point

GUWAHATI: A robbery took place around midnight of 16th of December in Gohpur, Assam. 


A group of 8-10 robbers broke into the house of Himeshwar and Meera Bharali and looted jewellery worth Rs 3 Lakhs and also took away cash amounting to Rs 2 Lakh 50 thousand as confirmed by Officer-in-Charge of Gohpur police station to G Plus.


The faces of the robbers were covered and while looting they injured Himeshwar Bharali and terrorized his wife at gunpoint.


Bharali, an office assistant at Dubia High School, and his wife, a teacher at the school, have expressed suspicion that the robbery took place after they got money from a bank and kept it at home.


"We are still investigating on this and we hope to catch the miscreants soon enough," added the Officer-in-Charge Prasanta Bezbaruah.
