Assam Rifles Officers Part Of Team To Complete First All-Woman Adventure Patrolling In The Himalayas

GUWAHATI: Officers and soldiers from the Assam Rifles were part of a team that comprised a total of 18 members to become the first all-woman team to complete adventure patrolling in the Himalayas in Arunachal Pradesh. 

The team consisted of officers and soldiers from the Indian Army and ITBP as well.

The patrol, which was led by Indian Army women officers, was launched on August 10 from Kibithu in the remote district of Anjaw in Arunachal Pradesh. 

Their route they took required them to move through and use their navigation skills in “difficult terrain criss-crossing streams and dense forests,” according to a defence spokesman in Kohima.
