GUWAHATI: 26 Coronavirus positive cases have been detected at Sarusajai Quarantine Centre on May 22.
Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, taking to his Twitter handle wrote, "In the biggest one-time spike in cases, 26 cases are confirmed #COVID19 +. They are all from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre."
Earlier in a press conference the minister stated that the recent spike in positive cases will probably increase in time and for which more quarantine facilities are being developed on a war footing.

Further, the minister stated that after inter-state travel was allowed, positive cases have surged in the state.
Currently Assam has recorded: Total cases 256, recovered 54, active cases 195 with 4 deaths.
