Assam: President Ram Nath Kovind To Visit Kaziranga

GUWAHATI: President Ram Nath Kovind will visit the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) in Assam on February 26, during his three-day visit to the State, Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday, February 20.

The President will undertake a jeep safari at KNP. He will also attend the convocation ceremony of Tezpur University on the same day.

Repair works of the National Highway 37, which passes through Kaziranga, including other routes have already begun for the President’s visit.

Ram Nath Kovind is the second Indian President after Neelam Sanjiva Reddy to visit Kaziranga since India’s independence. President Reddy visited KNP in 1981 and stayed at the tourist guest house Banani in Kohora.
