GUWAHATI: Five veteran cyber fraudsters were arrested on Thursday, April 17 from the Laharighat area of Morigaon for their involvement in a multi-crore credit card scam targeting HSBC Bank in a joint operation with Mumbai Police. The accused—Mohebbur Rahman, Azarul Islam, Iliyas Ahmed, Abu Bakkar Siddique, and Mohimuddin Ahmed—were taken into custody following a coordinated investigation.
Morigaon police took to X, narrating the operation.

The group is believed to have orchestrated a large-scale cyber fraud scheme, using \methods to exploit credit card systems and siphon off substantial sums.
Further investigation is underway to identify other individuals connected to the racket and trace the flow of illicit funds.
