Kamal Shing Narzary has called the actor-turned-politician, Deka, a "prostitute" on camera while talking to media on 5th December last during election campaigns for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections.

Slamming the people's representative for this derogatory remark, BJP leaders have lodged a complaint at the Bijni Police Station.

Superintendent of Police of Chirang District, Sudhakar Singh, informed media, "The FIR was lodged under Sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 500 (punishment for defamation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. We will inquire into the matter as per the law."

BPF and BJP, although part of a coalition government, have separately contested for the ongoing Bodoland Territorial Council elections. Allegedly, both parties have been passing unparliamentary comments against each other during the campaign. However, to have used such an unparliamentary word by a legislator against a woman on camera has been condemned by the state BJP leaders.
