GUWAHATI: An Assistant of sub-inspector (ASI) of Matia Police Station under Goalpara Police was caught while accepting bribe money on Sunday, August 7.
ASI Sabin Pal Das was arrested within the police station complex by a team of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Assam.
This was informed by Assam Police Special DGP G P Singh.
As per the press release issued by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, a complaint was received alleging that Assistant Sub-Inspector, Sabin Pal Das had demanded a bribe of Rs 35,000 for mitigating favourably the pending cases of the complainant lodged at Matia Police Station.
