Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to X to share the update. “Our personnel are fully alert to thwart such infiltration attempts in the Indo-Bangladesh border,” he said.

Following the operation, the individual identified as Md. Arif was promptly sent back to Bangladesh. Earlier this year, four Bangladeshi nationals were already apprehended in Karimganj. They were taken into custody as part of Assam's enhanced border security measures.

The Assam Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) have been actively working for years to prevent the intrusion of illegal immigrants into the state. Strict vigilance has been observed at all times.
