GUWAHATI: Assam recorded 2073 fresh COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, September 23. The cases were detected from all across the state, out of 29,647 COVID tests conducted.
This was informed by the Health Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Sarma wrote, "Alert ~ 2073 #COVID cases detected today out of 29647 tests."
The positivity rate for the infection is 6.99%.
With this, the total number of COVID cases in Assam has gone up to 1,61,393.
Further, with 1,817 patients discharged from various hospitals within the last 24 hours, active cases in Assam stands at 29,857 while 1,30,947 persons have been cured of the virus.
The COVID-19 death toll in Assam stands at 586.
