Assam: Minister Meets Teachers Association To Strategise Proper NEP Implementation

GUWAHATI: Assam State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu recently engaged in a discussion with a delegation representing the All Assam Higher Secondary Teachers & Employees Association at Janata Bhawan, as of an announcement on July 20.

The meeting revolved around various crucial issues pertaining to the development of secondary education in the state.

During the meeting, the delegation delved into several important topics, primarily focusing on the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) in Assam.

The issue of teacher recruitment was also a key point of discussion. The delegation expressed their concerns regarding the need for timely and efficient hiring of qualified educators to meet the growing demands in the education sector.

Another critical aspect discussed during the meeting was the career advancement of graduate and postgraduate teachers.

Ensuring opportunities for professional growth and development is essential to enhance the quality of education in the state.

The availability of textbooks in elective subjects emerged as an important concern during the discussions.

Moreover, discussion was also done on the appointment of regular teachers in educational institutions.

Ranoj Pegu took to Twitter to put out, “Met a delegation of All Assam Higher Secondary Teachers & Employees Association at Janata Bhawan today and discussed various issues of our Secondary Education. Implementation of NEP, Teacher recruitment, career advancement of graduate and Post Graduate Teachers, supply of Textbooks in elective subjects, appointment of regular teachers, etc. were discussed. Secretary Shri SN Chaudhury, Director Smt. Mamta Hojai joined.”
