GUWAHATI: A 47-year-old teacher in Cachar died after he reportedly collapsed due to extreme heat stress on Thursday.

The incident reportedly happened in the Kalain area of Cachar on Thursday when the person, identified as Chayan Dey, collapsed while conducting a class, as per reports. He was a teacher working at Satya Ranjan College, Kalian.
He was then taken to Kalain hospital reportedly.

Talking to GPlus, Bhaskar Gupta, the Superintendent of Silchar Medical College And Hospital said, “The person had died in Kalain Hospital itself. But no such patient was brought to SMCH as of Wednesday and Thursday(today).”
Reports also indicate a probable case of heart attack as the cause of his death. Further details are awaited.
