Assam: Maha Mrityunjay Temple Damaged after Earthquake

GUWAHATI: The Maha Mrityunjay Temple in Nagaon, Assam has been damaged by the earthquake that rocked the state on Wednesday, April 28. 


Cracks were observed in the upper part of the 126-feet temple. There is no statement from the temple authorities on the matter yet. As per sources, the damages have been observed in the recently constructed part of the temple.


The Maha Mrityunjay Temple situated in Nagaon, Assam is the world’s largest Shivalinga with a height of 126-feet. The construction of the temple started in 2003 with the help of Acharya Bhrigu Giri Maharaj.
